Indo Hungarian Education Project

Founder of IHEP Mr. Bruck Márton with Social Activist
Indo-Hungarian Education Programme
Operation plan

1. Goals
Goals of the Education programme and the IHEP:
· Help the education of the children in one of the poorest area in India – motto: support until the end of the university. To show the way and give opportunity for the children to go to university or to find the best education for the individuals.
· Build two things into the education of the children:
Environmental thinking,
The feeling of we are the same human beings in two different world.
· Building a bridge: to build a connection between the people of the “developing” and the “developed” world: to show how the others live and think, what are the problems to solve. To build personal perceptions on both sides.
2. Communication

The goal of the programme’s communication:
· To build trust: to answer all the questions that the potential sponsors would ask to make sure the money goes to the right place.
· To show both groups of sponsors (in Netherlands, in Hungary, in IITB etc.) that there are more pillars of this programme, it is a serious programme.
· To build and keep connection among the sponsors, team members and children.

Tool: Web site with forum, e-mails
2.1. Information about the programme (Webpage, document – with photos)
The document and website should contain information about the following:
· Goals
· The children
Where are they
Why is it important to help them going to school?
What is the problem for them?
· Participants: list and description of people
o Indian organisers: the team: organisers, teachers, sponsors, other helpers.
o Hungarian organisers
· The education
Daily life of the education in the school (after it has been started) (The programmes in the school, the building, the location…)
Main parts of the education: reading, writing, environmental education, …what kind of education do you plan to provide? What are the opportunities?
· History of the programme
How did it begun and why – motivation of the team
Future
Plans for the school and for the children

2.2. Communication with the Sponsors

At the beginning: write some almost official e-mails for the team members, sponsors in the Netherlands Universities, and Hungarian sponsors: we have started the IHEP, Keep in touch. Web site, forum, e-mails…

2.3. Regular emails for the Hungarian sponsors

Monthly reports will be given to the Individual donors (e-mail)
News about the school
News about the adopted child
Balance of the “donation account” (total and the personal)
Financial description of the operation: description of what the money have been spent for (incomes, bought things, savings)
Communication right after the first money transfer
Photos, news, articles if possible, things what the children got for the money…
2.4. IHEP evenings in Hungary - regular
We organise some evenings in Hungary to talk about the programme, the results, the numbers, to show photos.
Every third months.
2.5. Communication within the team (Hungarian and Indian team members)
We write e-mails to each other to be informed about the happenings.
We should collect the e-mail IDs of the team members. We should start to build the bridge between the two continents within the team J
2.6. Communication with the children and the parents
What are your plans: how to communicate with the children?
Communication between the children and the sponsors
Communication between the Indian School team and the children: how do they know about the programme?
What about the parents? How to communicate with them? Can the sponsors write letters to the children and the parents? Is it possible to translate for them? (We can send photos also…)
3. Financial operation
Goals:
Keep tracking of how we handle the money
Avoid cash flow problems
Harmonise money transfer timing
Tool: IHEP-Financial_operation_.xls – we are sending one file to each other with the updated information.
3.1. Money transfer
One Hungarian account to one Indian account.
Hungarian account: separated private account of Márton Bruck
Indian: …(Human Horizon’s account…?)
Timings:
To India: money transfer in every second months
In Hungary: collecting money from sponsors as they can pay, but minimum four months-fee in one go.
3.2. Accounting
Sending Excel table (IHEP-Financial_operation_.xls) to each other with the content:
Money collected in Hungary
Money transferred to India
Money spent / not spent yet in India
What have we bought for the children: list of things. (Important to show how we have used the money.)
Important to know how much saving we have in India in case of any problem with the sponsors.
3.3. Create savings to ensure continuity
We have to create saving to ensure the continuity of the support for the children even if
some sponsors stop the participation or
the money transfer is late in some points.
To build savings for continuity we save
In Hungary: one monthly amount for all kids (to avoid problems with sponsors stop/late paying)
In India: half monthly amount for all kids (to avoid problems with money transfer)
These saving can be used only if some sponsors stop paying or paying late, or the money transfer is late. It is not allowed to use them in case of money shortage for a particular purpose in the normal operation.

4. Personal visit
The Hungarian team members and the sponsors may go to Mumbai to visit the programme: see the school, see their sponsored child… if they would like to and they have the money for it…
